About By Way of the Word
Helping people follow Jesus faithfully.
By Way of the Word grew from a simple conviction: faithful Bible teaching should lead us to know Christ more deeply, understand His Word more clearly, and live as His people wherever He has placed us—all for the glory of God.
Founder & Teacher
Meet Chad Tucker
Chad Tucker, D.Min., is a Bible teacher who helps people love Jesus, learn the Bible, and live on mission for the glory of God.
Chad brings nearly three decades of ministry experience as a pastor, church planter, theological educator, and Bible teacher. Today, he continues to live out the conviction that shaped his years in pastoral ministry: following Jesus means living on mission wherever God places us. He teaches Scripture weekly and regularly preaches in churches throughout the region.
Across churches of different sizes, traditions, and stages of development, his work has been shaped by a consistent commitment to expository preaching, discipleship, and the mission of the local church.
His doctoral work, Great Commission Resurgence Principles for Missional Living Through Expository Preaching and Sermon-Based, Application-Oriented Small Groups, explored how biblical preaching and small groups can cultivate missional living.
He has also taught at Carolina Bible Institute & Seminary, including courses in expository preaching, New Testament Greek, biblical studies, pastoral leadership, evangelism, and Logos Bible Software.
Chad and his wife, Michelle, have been married since December 21, 1996, and have four children. He created By Way of the Word as a place to share the fruit of ongoing study and ministry with others who want to follow Jesus faithfully.
My Heart for Ministry
My hope is to help people know Jesus, grow in His Word, and become disciples who make disciples—all for His glory. This work depends on Christ’s grace, not my ability. I need that grace as much as anyone I teach.
I believe Scripture is the final authority in matters of faith and practice. I want my teaching to be shaped and corrected by God’s Word, and I seek to handle it carefully, with conviction and humility.
My heart is for unhurried, text-driven preaching, fervent prayer, and theologically rich worship that help equip the church for faithful life and service. I long to see believers grow together through shared life, generous and sacrificial giving, and intentional leadership development.
Following Jesus calls us to ongoing repentance and humility, and to love people who may not look, believe, or live like us. I want practical service to go hand in hand with clear proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in our local communities and around the world.
These convictions have shaped my ministry over many years, including an earlier vision for a people-oriented church with simple structures. By Way of the Word carries these convictions into a Bible-teaching and resource ministry that supports the life and mission of local churches.

What Guides the Ministry
Conviction with humility.
Scripture first
God’s Word sets the message, direction, and boundaries of the work.
Christ-centered
Every resource ultimately seeks to help people know and follow Jesus.
Church-minded
The ministry supports life and service within the local church rather than replacing it.
Mission-shaped
Biblical truth should form faithful disciples who live as witnesses in everyday life.
